Four exciting days are expected in Montbrison (France) for all the lovers of the classics disciplines.
Starting from tomorrow until Monday 6th two European Championships will take place in the Salle Guy Poirieux, in a perfect venue specially set up for the event.

The EC Cadre 71/2 is scheduled in the first two days followed by the EC Cadre 47/2 in the last two days. 27 competitors are in Montbrison representing 10 CEB federations, among them a number of former European Champions and French Champions, the show is guaranteed. The format is the same for both championships: a qualification stage with 24 players, 8 groups of 3, and a final KO stage for the 8 group winners.
Last edition of these two EC were played in Brandenburg back in 2019.

EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIP CADRE 71/2

Day 1 June 3rd - Cadre 71/2: the day of qualification rounds was exciting and impressive for the number of high quality and thrilling matches.  The top 8 winners of the group are the following, while the best general average and match average so far is by the first of the not qualified players Raul Cuenca (Spain) 59,60 - 75. Tomorrow we will have the new European Champion in Cadre 71/2.

Day 2 June 4th - Cadre 71/2:  One Dutch, one Belgian and two French are the semifinalists. Ger Jan Veldhuizen is facing Patrick Niessen and Olivier Careaux plays against Willy Gerimont. Gerimont had a clear victory on Careaux scoring 200-60 in 4 innings with a run of 160 and is therefore the first to reach the final. Niessen defeated Veldhuizen by 200-162 in 4 innings and a run of 137, he is the second finalist of this EC. Bronze medals for Gert Jan Veldhuizen (Netherlands) and Olivier Careaux (France).

EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIP CADRE 47/2

Day 1 June 5th - Cadre 47/2: The final qualification ranking shows eight players from eight countries, the best players in Europe entertained the spectators in the salle Guy Poirieux of Montbrison. Arnim Kahofer is the leader so far with a best average of 80, shared with Marek Faus that is also the runner up. Today 3 players ended their game in one inning: Jean-François Florent, Nikolaos Gerassimopoulos and Raymund Swertz.

The eight group winners ranked for the quarter finals starting tomorrow morning at 9:00.

Day 2 June 6th - Cadre 47/2:  Quarter finals: we had a very high level of play in the last 8 and spectacular matches. Raymund Swertz won on Sven Daske in 1 inning (250-239), Patrick Niessen won Arnim Kahofer 250-209 in 3 innings, Marek Faus eliminated the last Frenchman Pierre Martory in 3 innings (250-25) and Raul Cuenca needed 4 innings against Nicolas Gerassimopoulos (250-205). Netherlands, Czech Republic, Spain and Belgium are in the semifinals.

Semifinals:

Raul Cuenca vs Patrick Niessen

The first semifinal was an amazing show from Raymund Swertz that won one more time in one inning 250-0 on Marek Faus. Raul Cuenca eliminated Patrick Niessen in an exciting battle. The final therefore will show Raymund Swertz against Raul Cuenca. Bronze medals for Patrick Niessen (Belgium) and Marek Faus (Czech Republic).
