The European Championship 3C Ladies just finished with sensational records and big surprises.
The BC De Ploeg was the perfect venue with a lot of spectators that were delighted by the show.

The four sportswomen that reached the semifinals were Therese Klompenhouwer and Karina Jetten from The Netherlands, the outsider Charlotte Soerensen from Denmark and the well known Gulsen Degener from Turkey.

Therese Klompehouwer seemed to be in her top form and ready for an easy victory after setting up 2 new European records in the last 16: high run of 15 and best match average of 3,333 (30 points, 9 inning) but in billiards you never can tell.
The first semifinal was a tough fight, a real sport battle. Degener had a strong start taking the lead from the first innings with a gap of 10 points (15-5). Klompenhouwer chased throughout the whole match and only in the last innings she was able to catch and overtake her opponent. Final result: 30-25 in 45 innings.
In the second semifinal it was Soerensen to run away and Jetten had to pursue all the match but she couldn't close the gap. Final result: 30-18 (35 innings).

The final between Therese Klompenhouwer and Charlotte Soerensen was exciting and undecided (15-15) until the break, then Therese geared up and left no chance to her opponent quickly reaching the 30 points and her 9th European Title. Final result 30-16 in 24 innings.
Gold medal goes to Therese Klompenhouwer.
Silver medal for Charlotte Soerensen.
Bronze medals for Gulsen Degener and Karina Jetten.
