The qualification groups of the Coupe d'Europe in Porto are just ended. After some very excited matches the teams qualified to the final round are decided.

For one more week the interest of billiard lovers around the world will focus on Portugal. The Porto World Cup is just finished and another historical and classic tournament for club teams is going to start on Wednesday 5th in the same city: the Coupe d'Europe 3-Cushion. This the CEB event for clubs with the longest history: the first edition was played back on 1959 and we are now celebration the 63th edition. Seven times it was played in Porto in the past and this is the sixth in a row here. The home club of FC Porto is the organizer under the auspices of CEB and FPB. Aramith, Simonis and Taom are main CEB partners for this event.
FC Porto is also the defending champion and two times winner (in 2022 and 2017). Will they be able to conquer this prestigious trophy for the third time ?
FC Porto team line up looks very strong with Jaspers, Blomdahl, Costa, Ferreira, Soares, but some of the best known competitors may prove really tough with so many top players announced: FBN Tekstil was the runner up 2022 edition (Tasdemir, B. Karakurt, Salman, Tuzul), Andernos was third place in 2022 (Zanetti, Forthomme, Mottet, Marechal), then Varde (Merckx, De Bruijn, Andersen, Schroder), Mister 100 (Peter, Kurt and Bart Ceulemans), Mostoles (Ruben, Adrian and Alfonso Legazpi), Op de Meir (Philipoom, Van beers, Uytdewillegen) . The show is guaranteed.
A total of 19 clubs representing 11 federations will play the qualification rounds divided in 5 groups, from Wednesday to Friday. Then 5 group winners and 2 best seconds will join the defending champion of FC Porto in the two final groups of four, playing Saturday. Best two of each final group will advance to the semifinals and finals that will follow on Sunday. Tuesday 4th is reserved for the training.
