1. PREDATOR PARTNERSHIP FOR CEB WOMEN GP RENEWED
CEB is happy to announce that the sponsorship with Predator, for CEB Women 3-Cushion Grand Prix, is extended for 2 seasons.
The promotion of women’s billiards is a priority action for CEB, based on attractive competitions and training camps. That’s why this partnership with Predator is very important.
For this season, the first Predator Grand Prix will be organized in Gandia (Spain), 10 to 12.May 2024, the second will be organized in Herstal (Belgium), 30.August to 1.September 2024. Inscription is free for all sportswomen and the total prize money is € 4.250 for each Grand Prix.
2. THE WORLD GAMES 2025 - CHENGDU - CHINA
At the next World Games in Chengdu in 2025, for the first time, there will be a 3-cushion women's competition. CEB announces that 6 athletes (4 men and 2 women) will be nominated. The European Champion Ladies and the European Champion Individual 2024 that will be crowned in Ankara will be selected. The additional 4 places (3 men and 1 woman) will be granted according to the CEB Rankings 3-Cushion Individual and Ladies at the date of August 31st, 2024. For Ladies the GP 30.08/01.09 will be taken in account.
Because of the deadline from IWGA and the procedure for China Visa, CEB has to nominate like informed.
3. MEMBERS NEWS
Here's a new section in our Sport News. From now on, we will be reporting on the activities of our members. Federations are invited to send us information on events, competitions, training sessions or any other activity and we will publish them in this section. This will give everyone a better idea of what's going on in our confederation. For the first time, we welcome Albania.
ALBANIA - CAROM IS EXPANDING
Carom is expanding ! Thanks to the help of Zeki, the biggest billiard manufacturer in Türkiye, CEB has been able to provide 2 Carom match tables to the Albanian Billiard Federation.
"One of the most important ways to achieve best results in sports is collaboration and support. This is what Mrs. Diane Wild (President of the CEB) did for the Albanian Billiard & Snooker Federation, she gave life to Carom in Albania. Understanding our circumstances, needs and problems as a federation Mrs. Diane Wild made possible that Albanian Billiard & Snooker Federation have two new Carom tables. In 15th to 17th of December 2023, we organized “Arena Cup” (Snooker & Pool), where we included Carom. Masters of Carom in Albania were elevated to finally after years they would have the opportunity to participate in such competition. It was noticed a huge interest from young players to understand and learn the discipline from professionals.
A special thanks goes to the Turkish Brand "Zeki Billiard", Rainer Selgrath (Treasurer of CEB), Ümit Özkul (Board member of CEB), Stefano Malacrita (Sports Director of CEB) and Jean-Pierre Guiraud (General Secretray of CEB) for the support and making possible the promotion of Carom in Albania."
