The young Frenchman Gwendal Marechal showed a brilliant performance in the three sessions of the latest group of the Kozoom 3C Challenge Cup, gaining his ticket for the final round.
He started the first day with a surprising 4-4-0 (playing at 2,000 avg) against the world champion Torbjörn Blomdahl (2,241) and the German Ronny Lindemann who couldn't win one set.
In the second day Marechal showed no fear at all and took the lead winning 5 sets and taking an advantage of 4 ahead of the Swedish champion. The job was then completed in the third day when he won the few more sets needed to secure the final victory; Blomdahl failed his comeback winning only 2 sets and Lindemann finally showed his talent winning 3.
