Andrés Carrión (ES) new European Champion in Three Cushion U21

The magnificent facilities of the High Performance Center, Centro de Alto Rendimiento  CAR, Murcia Region in Los Alcáceres, located in the shores of the Menor sea in Spain, held the dispute of the European Championship in three cushion U21 from June 03rd to 05th, a competition where a total of 14 participants from 9 different European national federations took part in. In the preliminary round the 14 players were divided into 3 groups, 2 of 5 players and 1 of 4 players. The first two from each group and the two best third were classified for the final round, in which 8 players are competing. The final round was played by means of the KO system. In the semifinals Butora (AT) and Carrión (SP) faced each other on one side and Loewe (DE) and Anguita (SP) on the other. The Spanish player Carrión and the German player Loewe  turned out to be the winners. In the final match among these great two players, the victory was in favour of Carrión by the result of 30 to 21, with a general average of 1,050, after a very  exciting match. Thus, the first position corresponds to Spanish A. Carrión, the second to German  T. Loewe, and the third place was given to the Spanish C. Anguita and the Autrian P. Butora. Congratulations to Andrés Carrión, new European Champion on the three cushion U21. There are some facts that should be highlighted about the competition :
