THE COUPE D'EUROPE 5-PINS STARTS TOMORROW IN JABLONEC, CZECHIA
The Coupe d'Europe 5-pins for club teams is about to begin in Jablonec nad Nisou, Czechia.
Organizers from the TJ Bižuterie Jablonec club, led by president Petr Bušanský, have prepared everything down to the smallest detail to host the 16 teams competing in this third edition of the European trophy.
A press conference has already been held to present the event, attended by the mayor of Jablonec, who sponsors the tournament, by the main local sponsor (Preciosa) who is offering additional special trophies to the winners and by the organizing committee; the tournament is organized under the auspices of the Czech Billiards Federation. The opening ceremony will take place Friday morning in the city hall, and the training session will take place today in the afternoon.
The matches will begin tomorrow morning and continue into the following day to conclude the qualifying groups, quarterfinals will take place on Saturday, semi-finals and finals following on Sunday.
The 16 teams representing seven National Federations are divided into four groups of four, with the top two teams from each group advancing to the quarterfinals.
The defending champion is the Laxou team from France (Association Sportive Laxovienne de Billard).
All matches will be streamed live on the host club's YouTube channel. The results will be published on the CEB website.
The tournament is played on Simonis cloths with Aramith billiard balls.
