IKAST WINS THE COUPE D'EUROPE 5-PINS 2026
The final day of the Coupe d’Europe 5-Pins Club Teams 2026 brought, from the early morning hours, the very best that European 5-Pins billiards currently has to offer.
The four best teams of the championship entered the semi-finals with a single goal – to reach the final and compete for the European trophy.
The first semi-final fully demonstrated the strength of the Danish carom billiards school. IKAST BK confirmed its outstanding quality from the very beginning of the match. Their opponents fought bravely, but after defeats in both singles and the double match, the outcome was decided even before the final relay. The Danish team IKAST BK thus became the first finalist.
The second semi-final featured a clash between the winners of the two previous editions of the competition. Association Sportive Laxovienne de Billard (AS Laxou) faced B.A. Roeselare in a highly balanced encounter. The spectators witnessed a thrilling battle that was only decided in the final relay. There, the French team AS Laxou showed greater composure and experience, securing their place in the final.
After a short lunch break, the final match began under extremely hot conditions. The opening stages favored the Danish team. Luca Garavaglia and Kasper Kristoffersen won their respective singles matches, leaving AS Laxou with no alternative but to win the double match to keep their hopes of retaining the title alive. The pair of Socco and Carreau successfully completed their difficult task, defeating the Danish duo Jaeger and Pedersen after a dramatic contest. The lead changed hands several times, and the winner remained uncertain until the closing moments of the match. The new European champion was therefore decided by the final relay. For most of the contest, both teams remained within touching distance of each other. However, in the decisive moments, the players of IKAST BK showed greater confidence and precision. The Danish team won the relay by 200:188 and became the champions of the Coupe d’Europe 5-Pins Club Teams 2026.
Awards Ceremony
Immediately after the final match, the official awards ceremony took place in the presence of the Mayor of Jablonec nad Nisou, Mr. Miloš Vele, representatives of Preciosa Beauty Michaela Dubská and Zuzana Jánovová, Chairman of TJ Bižuterie Jablonec Mr. Dubský, CEB Delegate Jean-Pierre Guiraud, and other distinguished guests. The ceremony was hosted by Tournament Director Robert Wolf, who supervised the sporting side of the competition and ensured its smooth running throughout the entire event. The teams B.A. Roeselare and Sport Billard Club Annoeullinois shared third place. Both teams received bronze medals and special trophies in the form of crystal spheres featuring the championship motif, created exclusively for the tournament by Preciosa Beauty. The silver medals were awarded to AS Laxou. In addition, the players received a unique crystal trophy of a larger format, continuing the design concept of the third-place awards. The winner of the Coupe d’Europe 5-Pins Club Teams 2026 was IKAST BK. The players received their gold medals from CEB Delegate Jean-Pierre Guiraud. The Mayor of Jablonec nad Nisou, Mr. Miloš Vele, then presented the team captain with the main trophy – a unique crystal artwork mounted on a tall pedestal and decorated with three balls in the traditional colors of carom billiards. As part of the ceremony, the traditional silver bowl was also handed over by AS Laxou, the defending champions.
Appreciation for the Organizers
The closing speech was delivered by CEB Delegate Jean-Pierre Guiraud, who officially declared the tournament closed. In his address, he praised the exceptional organizational standards of the event, the quality of the sporting facilities, the excellent preparation of the venue, and the work of the referees, volunteers, and the entire organizing team. Special recognition was given to the Head of the Organizing Team, Petr Bušanský, and the members of TJ Bižuterie Jablonec – Sports Billiards Section for their many months of intensive work, which made it possible to host the championship at a level worthy of a major European competition. Jean-Pierre Guiraud highlighted not only the organization of the sporting competition itself, but also the accompanying program, the care provided to international participants, the promotion of the city of Jablonec nad Nisou, and the overall atmosphere of the championship. In his speech, he stated that the organizers had prepared the tournament with maximum professionalism, dedication, and attention to detail. He particularly appreciated that all sporting and social activities throughout the championship were conducted smoothly and in the spirit of friendship that characterizes European billiards. He also expressed his belief that TJ Bižuterie Jablonec – Sports Billiards Section had clearly demonstrated its ability to host events of European importance and stated that he would be very pleased to see the club apply again to organize future competitions under the auspices of the CEB.
The organizers would also like to express their sincere gratitude to the City of Jablonec nad Nisou for its support and patronage of the event. Special thanks go to the general partners, sponsors, and supporters of the tournament, whose contributions made it possible to organize the championship at a level befitting a major European competition. Last but not least, we would like to thank the Czech-Moravian Billiard Federation for its trust, support, and cooperation in organizing this important international sporting event.
After four days of top-class European billiards, the third edition of the Coupe d’Europe 5-Pins Club Teams has come to an end. The tournament leaves behind not only many memorable sporting moments, but also new friendships, valuable experiences, and highly positive feedback from participants and representatives of the European Billiards Confederation. For the organizing club, TJ Bižuterie Jablonec – Sports Billiards Section, this is confirmation that months of hard work, preparation, and the dedication of dozens of volunteers were worthwhile and contributed to the successful staging of a European championship that its participants will remember for many years to come.

THE DAY OF THE FINALS STARTS IN JABLONEC
The third playing day of the Coupe d’Europe 5-Pins Club Teams 2026 brought the quarterfinal matches that determined the four teams advancing to Sunday's semifinals. Looking only at the final scores, the results may appear one-sided. Three of the four quarterfinal matches ended with a 3:0 scoreline, meaning the relay match was not required. However, the scores do not fully reflect what happened on the tables. In many cases, the outcome of individual matches was decided only in the closing moments, and all quarterfinal encounters offered high-quality and highly competitive 5-Pins billiards.
One of the highlights of the day was the match between the newly crowned Danish Champion, Kasper Kristoffersen (Ikast BK), and junior player Magnus Petersen (Randers BK). Although Randers BK did not advance to the semifinals, Petersen was the only player able to score a point for his team, defeating the experienced Kristoffersen 120:104. Once again, this result demonstrated that the younger generation of European 5-Pins players is already capable of competing at senior level. The future of our sport looks very promising.
The most dramatic match of the day was undoubtedly the quarterfinal clash between Ikast BK and Randers BK. The winner was decided only in the final relay, where the lead changed hands almost every inning. Spectators in the arena witnessed a thrilling battle that remained open until the very last shots. Randers BK played with remarkable precision, patience and consistency, pushing their opponents to the limit. In the end, however, Ikast BK produced a powerful finish and secured their place in the semifinals.

The tournament venue also welcomed additional visitors today, many of whom were amazed by the precision and tactical quality of the game. For some spectators, it was difficult to comprehend how players could execute such accurate shots after multiple cushion contacts and still control the balls with incredible precision. Among today's guests were representatives of Preciosa and Preciosa Beauty. After the matches had concluded, they had the opportunity to try several shots on the tournament tables themselves. The experience was both entertaining and enlightening, providing a deeper appreciation of the skill required to perform at the highest European level.

The following teams advanced to the semifinals: • Ikast BK (Denmark) • BC Annoeullinois (France) • AS Laxou 5P (France) • B.A. Roeselare 5P (Belgium)
Semifinal Matches – 21 June 2026, 09:00
Ikast BK (Denmark) vs. BC Annoeullinois (France)
AS Laxou 5P (France) vs. B.A. Roeselare 5P (Belgium)
The winners of these matches will advance to the Grand Final and compete for the prestigious Coupe d’Europe 5-Pins Club Teams 2026 title.

LAST 8 DECIDED IN JABLONEC  NAD NISOU
The second playing day of the Coupe d’Europe 5-Pins Club Teams 2026 began with the official Opening Ceremony held at the City Hall of Jablonec nad Nisou. Tournament Director Robert Wolf welcomed all distinguished guests, including CEB Delegate Jean Pierre Guiraud, the Mayor of Jablonec nad Nisou, Mr. Miloš Vele, Member of the Czech Parliament Mgr. Lucie Bartošová, Head of the Organizing Team Petr Bušanský, referees, team officials, and all tournament participants.
He also introduced each of the sixteen participating club teams. Petr Bušanský then delivered a short speech, thanking all members of the organizing team for their tremendous effort during the preparation and organization of the event.

He also introduced the tournament partners and sponsors, whose support made it possible to organize such an important European competition. In his speech, he expressed his wish that the home club would be given the opportunity to host future European events once again. The Mayor of Jablonec nad Nisou, Mr. Miloš Vele, then addressed the audience. In his speech, he emphasized that Jablonec nad Nisou is a city of sport and that he is pleased to see that, alongside traditionally successful sports such as football, athletics, and winter sports, smaller disciplines with an international dimension, such as 5-Pins billiards, are also thriving. He also invited all participants to visit the Jablonec Reservoir, a unique recreational area located in the very heart of the city.

The final and most important speech was delivered by CEB Delegate Jean-Pierre Guiraud. He thanked the organizers for the excellent preparation of the tournament, praised the quality of the venue and the work of the organizing team, and officially declared the third edition of the Coupe d’Europe 5-Pins Club Teams open. The ceremony concluded with the Czech national anthem, after which the players returned to the billiard hall to continue the battles of the second playing day.

The remainder of the day was marked by intense competition for qualification to the quarter-finals and for the best possible positions in the group standings. The home team, TJ Bižuterie Jablonec nad Nisou A, fought for qualification until its very last match. Despite delivering strong performances throughout the day, the team narrowly missed out on qualification and eventually finished in third place in its group. A major surprise nearly emerged in the group of the Czech junior team, TJ Bižuterie Jablonec nad Nisou / BC Kladno Youth Team. Their qualification hopes were decided only in the final relay match. The young players deserve great admiration and recognition, as despite their age and relatively limited experience, they proved to be equal opponents to experienced European teams. Special recognition also belongs to coaches Jan Hudák and Jan Aleš, who was part of the support staff and served not only as a coach but also as a physiotherapist and sports psychologist throughout the tournament. Several qualified teams confirmed their status as tournament favourites.

All group winners advanced to the quarter-finals without dropping a single point, demonstrating excellent form and their readiness to compete for the European trophy. The weather was once again very hot, with outdoor temperatures reaching up to 35°C. Challenging conditions also prevailed inside the venue, where players spent long hours competing in highly concentrated matches. However, the high temperatures had no negative impact on the quality of play. Throughout the day, spectators witnessed many examples of top-class offensive and defensive play. Tactical decisions regarding player line-ups and the selection of playing systems played a crucial role. Many positions after completed shots ended in what players call a “cover”, where the opponent had no direct attacking option and was forced to find complex technical solutions. It was in these situations that the experience, precision, and strategic thinking of Europe’s best players became fully apparent.

Teams Qualified for the Quarter-finals
Following the completion of the group stage, the following teams secured their place in the knockout phase:
Group A 1. 2. IKAST BK (Denmark) Secció Billar Foment Molins (Spain)
Group B 1. 2. Association Sportive Laxovienne de Billard – AS Laxou (France) Cercle de Billard Dudelange (Luxembourg)
Group C 1. 2. B.A. Roeselare (Belgium) Randers PC (Denmark)
Group D 1. 2. Sport Billard Club Annoeullinois (France) Billard-Sportclub-Elite (Austria)

With the group stage now completed, the quarter-final line-up is confirmed. In the knockout stage there will be no room for mistakes. Every defeat will mean the end of the road towards the European trophy. The organizers would like to thank all players, referees, volunteers, and partners for another outstanding day of competition and look forward to the climax of the tournament, which begins with Saturday’s quarter-final matches. The European club championship in Jablonec nad Nisou is now entering its most exciting phase.
