FREDERIC CAUDRON TAKES HIS FOURTH WORLD TITLE IN ANTWERP.
In an all-Belgian exciting final Frederic Caudron secured his well deserved fourth World Title leaving his countryman Eddy Merckx with a silver medal (50-47 in 32/31); all of that in front of a crowd of enthusiastic spectators.
The Korean defending champion M.W.Cho had to settle for a bronze medal together with the Austrian surprise Arnim Kahofer.
The World Title comes back to Europe after two seasons of Asian preponderance on the World 3-Cushion podium. Eddy Merckx is the new leader of the UMB World Players Ranking.

EUROPE OUTNUMBERS ASIA IN FINAL ROUNDS
European top players outnumbered the Asian colleagues in the last stages of the World Championship 3-Cushion in Antwerp.
Seven out of the eight quarter finalists were from CEB federations, the 8th was the defending champion from Korea M.W.Cho. Two Belgian will be on the podium.
B.Karakurt (TR), N.Polychronopoulos (GR), J.P.De Brujin (NL) and M.Horn (DE) finished their tournament in the last 8 round.
Frederic Caudron (BE), Arnim Kahofer (AT), Eddy Merckx (BE) and M.W.Cho (KR) made it to the semifinals.
Semifinals will be played tomorrow:
at 12:00 Caudron - Kahofer
at 14:30 Cho - Merckx
