AMIR IBRAIMOV DID NOT DISAPPOINT THE EXPECTATIONS IN BERGISCH GLADBACH
Amir Ibraimov, playing home, was one of the main favorites and he did not disappoint the expectations. Today he clearly won the first Longoni NextGen Grand Prix 3-Cushion U21 for this sport season. The German boy was unbeaten and evidently the best player of this tournament.
His path in the KO rounds passed through Cenk Sengul (TR) in the last 8 and then he was the better of Bruno Martinez (ES) in the semifinal. He also won Toni Garcia in the final without many problems (35-23 in 23/22). The second semifinal was between the Spanish Arturo Zotov and Toni Garcia. The Spanish expedition didn't go back home empy handed securing all the available podium spots except the first.
Tangui Duriez (France), Marcos Morales (Spain), Toon Bollansee (Belgium), Cenk Sengul (Turkiye) finished their tournament in the quarters final.
Finally we are glad to note the participation of many very young players who will be the future of our sport:

LONGONI NEXTGEN: FOUR SPANISH THEN GERMANY, FRANCE, BELGIUM AND TURKIYE IN THE LAST 8.
Qualification groups are finished in Bergisch Gladbach and the quarters finalist are now decided.
Group A: Marco Morales for Spain won this group with a full score, average 1,000. Runner up was the Belgian Toon Bollansee with a 0,732 average.
Group B: Toni Garcia won all of his matches in this group. Turkish Cenk Sengul is the runner up qualified.
Group C: this group was a neck-to-neck one until the last round; 5 players finished with 6 match points. Bruno Martinez and Arturo Zotov, both from Spain, qualified thanks to the best averages.
Group D: Amir Ibraimov and Tangui Duriez dominated in this group, then the German won the last match against the French and therefore the group, Duriez is second.
The best run so far was scored by Jacob Ide (DE), 11 points, but unfortunately he is not qualified to the next stage. Best average and best match: Amir Ibraimov 1,157-1,666.

FIRST DAY IS OVER IN BERGISCH GLADBACH LONGONI GP U21
We are halfway in the first Longoni NextGen Grand Prix 3-Cushion U21. The qualification ranking begins to have a visible shape. Amir Ibraimov (DE) is leading so far with the best average (1,136-1,666) and three Spaniards, Marcos Morales (best run of 9), Arturo Zotov and Toni Garcia are chasing, all of them are leaders in their respective group. The runners up until now are Tangui Duriez (FR), Toon Bollansee (BE), Luca Philipoom (NL) and Joeri Wilkowski (NL) 14 years old. Tomorrow the qualification groups will be completed and the 8 finalists will be known.

LONGONI NEXTGEN NEW SEASON KICKS OFF IN BERGISCH GLADBACH
The new season of the Longoni NextGen tour for U21 players will kick off in the Bergisch Gladbacher Billard-Club 1926 e.V., in Bergisch Gladbach (Germany). The first Grand Prix for this season will take place this week from Friday 24th to Sunday 26th, organized by the host club under the auspice of CEB and DBU and with the main sponsorship of the Italian cue brand. 23 young 3-cushion talents have registered, confirminf the great interest for these events. The next scheduled steps of the NextGen 25/26 circuit will be the second Grand Prix in Athens (Greece) in May 2026 and the European Championship 3-Cushion U21, which is included in the Euroyouth 2026 Longoni NextGen, also scheduled in Greece in August 2026, 5th to 9th. The final ranking of these 3 events will be used to awards 3 wild cards to the top 3 players for the European Championship 3-Cushion Individual 2026/2027.
The format in Bergisch Gladbach is the following:
4 qualification groups of 6 and 5 (matches to 25 points/50 innings with equalizing inning); best two from each group will advance to the quarters final (matches to 35 points, no equalization, no innings limit).
Qualification groups will be played on Friday and Saturday, KO rounds are scheduled for Sunday.
The tournament is played on Simonis clothes with Aramith billiard balls.
