One Mexican, two Turkish and one Korean shared the podium in Cartagena.
The World Juniors title goes to Latin-America for the second time in the history of this World Championship and in Mexico for the first time, thanks to the victory of the Mexican Ubaldo Sanchez over the defending champion Seymen Ozbas (TR). In the first semifinal Ubaldo Sanchez won Kim Do Hyeon (Korea) on the finish line (40-39). They already met before in the qualification group G and they drew.
The second semifinal was never a real game between the two best Turkish, Seymen Ozbas dominated over his compatriot Ataberk Cerkez 40-18 in 20.
Yesterday the quarters final field showed the 2 Turkish who reached the semifinals (Ozbas and Cerkez) at the expenses of the 2 Spanish left (Zotov and Garcia), 2 Korean (Kim H.W. and Kim D.H.) who had to face each other and the last pair: 1 Mexican (Sanchez) and 1 from Colombia (Martinez) where the Mexican prevailed.
