ARNIM KAHOFER IS THE NEW 71/2 EUROPEAN CHAMPION
The Austrian Arnim Kahofer took the gold medal in the 71/2 discipline in Cervera. He is not new on the podium in classic disciplines, he was champion in 1-Cushion in 2024, in 2004 he took the gold in 47/2, he got a gold in free game in 1997, and now in 71/2 too.
In the final he had to overcome the former champion Marek Faus (CZ) and Spanish Esteve Mata in the semifinals. The silver medalist Marek Faus had to win a razor edge match against the Dutch Gert Jan Veldhuizen to reach the final. Swertz, Gretillat, Gerimont and van Silfhout quit their championship in quarters final.

71/2: QUARTER FINALISTS HAVE BEEN DECIDED IN CERVERA.
The last 71/2 qualification session just ended in Cervera and the 8 surviving to the tomorrow's quarters final session are now clear.
Esteve Mata (Spain) lead group A, the title holder Raymund Swertz (Netherlands) was the runner up. Nikos Gerassimopoulos (Greece) and Micha van Bochem (Netherlands) are eliminated.
In group B Willy Gerimont was the best, Michel van Silfhout was second. Patrick Niessen (Belgium) and Michael Hikl suffered an early exit from the tournament.
Czech Marek Faus won group C, chase by the Dutch Gert Jan Veldhuizen as runner up. Spanish Raul Cuenca and Carlos Marques from Luxemburg were eliminated.
In group D the winner was Arnim Kahofer (Austria), runner up was Xavier Gretillat (Switzerland).
Marek Faus finished on top of the provisional ranking after the qualification, Esteve Mata was behind.
Marek Faus scored the best overall average (40,90), Willy Gerimont scored the best run so far (143) and shared the best match with Marek Faus (75,00).
The quarters final are scheduled for tomorrow morning at 9.30:

THE EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIP BALKLINE 71/2 IS UNDERWAY IN CERVERA
The last one of the three planned championship is underway in the Casal the Cervera. Today the qualification rounds of the 71/2 tournament are on the schedule and only the the group winners and the runners up will advance to the tomorrow's KO stage.
