TURKISH RECORD TOURNAMENT IN GUINNESS BOOK

The Turkish billiards president Ersan Ercan is proud to announce that his federation has organized the biggest national three cushion tournament in its history. The tournament was held between 1 and 12 March of this year, 2016, in Antalya. A record of 1170 players have participated and competed which included men, ladies and youth categories playing in the same tournament. Can Capak won the tournament in the man's category by beating Semih Sayginer in the final match. The achievement has been officially registered as a world record and hence entered the Guinness Book of Records fort he running year 2016. It is the first time in the history of Turkey to have a sports championship registered in the Guinness World Records Book. Mister Ercan likes to say that he shares his pride and happiness with the world of billiards. ,,We have been working intensively for almost six months to register our achievement. Although, after receiving the answer 'rejected' to our first application, we didn't give up. With the help of my beloved dear friend, the chief architect for the registration of this achievement, our TBF's International Delegate and Snooker director Dr. Muhammed Leysi, who has been working day and night in helping us to prepare meticulously close to 50 documents in order to convince and prove to Guinness officials that we deserve their recognition.'' ,,Therefore'', says Mr Ercan, ,,I offer my gratitude and thanks for his efforts. And of course the biggest thanks to our esteemed athletes... Those who allowed the formation of such huge record, they are the real owners of the record, I offer my thanks and would like to congratulate each one of them.'' The Turkish president closes his message with: ,,To our Billiards Sports Community, let's up hope all the best to come.''
