THE HOME TEAM OF LAXOU WINS THE COUPE D'EUROPE 5-PINS CLUBS
The home team of Laxou won the Coupe d'Europe in front of his own fans in an emotional ambience where the Marseillaise resounded loudly sung by the winners, the runners up and all the spectators. Indeed it was a mostly French podium: the other French team of CMO Morangis lost a very exciting final (3-0 the final score) where the match double was decisive but uncertain until the last shots (120-108). Maxime Jublot and Fabrizio Borroni won the two singles, Nicolas David and Michael Carreau won the double.
Earlier in the semifinals the team of Laxou eliminated the Danes of Ikast by a clear 3-0. Morangis had to fight a tense match against the Spanish of Madrid Escuela National. The French won the two single matches and the Spanish won the double match therefore the relay had to be played; this was also an exciting match decided only in the last part with a final score of 200-174 for Morangis.
The Gold medal and the Coupe d'Europe trophy was awarded to the Association Sportive Laxovienne de Billard.
Silver medal for CMO Morangis. Bronze medals to Madrid Escuela National and Ikast BK.

SATURDAY June 1st UPDATE: THE SEMIFINALS ARE NOW SET
Quarters final have been played today in Laxou hence the 4 semifinalists teams are now decided.
Two French teams (Laxou and Morangis), the Danes of Ikast and the Spanish of Madrid Escuela National will compete tomorrow morning for the better spots on the podium. In the quarters final Ikast won their compatriots of Nyborg and Laxou eliminated the BC Elite Wien, both results were a clear 3-0 and the relay was not needed. Morangis and Madrid had to play the relay to win their respective matches against Roeselare and Gorissen Furniture.
Semifinals matches will be the following starting tomorrow at 9.00 AM:

COUPE D'EUROPE 5-PINS CLUBS IN LAXOU: QUARTERS FINAL DECIDED.
The finalists teams of the Coupe d'Europe 5-Pins Clubs Teams have been determined today at the end of two days of qualification rounds. The last 8 will play the quarters final tomorrow. The semifinals and the final are scheduled on Sunday. Six nations are still represented in the KO rounds: France and Denmark with 2 teams each (Morangis and Laxou, Ikast and Nyborg), the title holder team of DOS Roeselare from Belgium, the Dutch team of Gorissen Furniture, Madrid Escuela National for Spain and Elite Wien for Austria.
Morangis, Laxou, Ikast and Gorissen Furniture were the respective winners of groups A,B,C and D while Nyborg, Madrid, Roeselare and Wien were the runners up of the same groups.
According to the rules of the competition the quarters final were set up as follow:

THE COUPE D'EUROPE 5-PINS CLUB TEAMS IN LAXOU (FRANCE)
The Coupe d'Europe is a CEB special yearly event reserved for club teams. Since many year it take place for the disciplines of 3-cushion and for the classic ones. Since two year it is organized for 5-Pins too and now the third edition is ready to begin in Laxou (France). The Association Sportive Laxovienne Billard is the organizer together with the French Federation (FFB) and under the umbrella of the CEB.
The games will start on May 30th and will finish on June 2nd.
15 teams representing clubs from 7 CEB federations will show up in Laxou. Among these teams the Belgians of DOS Roeselare are the defending champions as winners of the 2023 edition.
Qualification groups will be played at first, followed by a direct elimination stage for 8 teams. The match format is the same of the other 5-Pins teams tournament: 2 single match, 1 double match and one relay with 4 players. The event is played on Simonis cloths with Aramith billiard balls.
